The Famous OP Salt & Pepper Wrap Recipe

The Salt & Pepper wrap was created as a sweet and spicy lunch option for our cafe. Made from delicious and tender chicken, fried veg and of course the special salt and pepper seasoning. Let us enlighten you with an at home recipe so you can enjoy our wraps from anywhere!


Salt & Pepper Wrap


What do you need?

  • 2 chicken breast

  • 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 eggs

  • 1 cup of milk

  • 1 tablespoon salt

  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

  • Oil for frying

  • Salt and pepper seasoning

  • 1 red pepper

  • 1 onion

  • A handful of Lettuce

  • 2 wraps

  • Mayonaise

  • 3 cloves of garlic

How to make

To make the southern fried chicken.

  1. In a medium bowl whisk the milk and eggs and blend well.

  2. In a large zip-lock bag, combine flour, salt and pepper. Seal then shake to combine.

  3. Cut up your chicken breast into bitesize pieces, dip them into the milk and egg mixture. Let excess drip off and place them aside on a plate.

  4. Add your chicken into the flour bag and shake well to coat the chicken pieces thoroughly.

  5. Heat a pan of oil to 350 F and have a plate lined with paper towels to hand.

  6. Fry the chicken, a few pieces at a time for around 10 minuets on each side, or until golden brown and thoroughly cooked.

  7. With a slotted spoon, move the cooked chicken to the paper towel lined plate to drain and immediately sprinkle with salt and pepper.

  8. In another zip-lock bag, add the salt and pepper seasoning.

  9. While the chicken is still slightly oil coated, pop the fried chicken into the seasoning and shake to thoroughly coat.

To make the wrap.

  1. Cut your pepper into strips and dice your onion. Roughly chop your lettuce.

  2. In a frying pan heat a teaspoon of oil and heat on medium heat.

  3. Once your pan is hot, add the onion and begin to cook.

  4. Add your peppers into the onions and cook until softened.

  5. In a small bowl, add mayonnaise and 2-3 cloves of crushed garlic (dependant of how garlicy you like it). Mix to combine and set aside.

  6. Place your salt and pepper chicken onto your wrap, add the onions, peppers lettuce and garlic mayo. Wrap it up.

  7. Place onto a grill pan to heat through.
